If we all wanted to fix the global warming, it wouldn't be a problem.
Trouble is, not everybody believes it is a problem,
So, if there's one thing to be done, first and foremost, it is this:

meanwhile...

Start

Start with personal actions - like reducing your own carbon footprint.
Be a co2nscious model.
Spread the word Try to influence your family, friends and colleagues to take action too.
Lobby Write to politicians, write to businesses; tell them your concerns.

Empower Make the choice -  Every moment we have a choice. Likely as not, we will read from the script that fate has given us. It needn't be so. At any second we can tear up the script and read from another, or better still, write our own. Exercising our free will is a good thing.
Reassure It's a competitive world and many destructive choices are the last resort of people who feel they can't survive otherwise. We must want to help them survive without destruction and we must give them the means to do so.
Keep your chin up! Life is good.

Events 2008:
29th March - Earth Hour
On Saturday, March 29, people around the world will turn off their lights as a symbolic statement about taking action against climate change. The bigger aim, though, is to build awareness about the long-term changes we can make to lighten our load on the planet.

31st May - Demonstration at Heathrow
'We want a massive show of force to make sure we win our first big victory in the war to redirect Britain towards a low carbon future. Come and be part of it – join a Spring Carnival of Resistance to the Third Runway, Airport Expansion and the insanity of government decisions that would lock us into climate catastrophe.'.

UK / European Campaigns:

Biofuel Watch

Petition: 'We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to stop promoting biofuels as an alternative to petroleum.'

Biofuel Watch

  • Say no to biofuel targets which encourage rainforest destruction.
The EU are now consulting on ‘sustainability standards’. We believe that what they propose will offer no protection to rainforests, the climate, nor people. If we want to save forests, prevent catastrophic global warming, and stop food prices rising beyond the reach of poor people, then we need to stop biofuels from large-scale monocultures.

Rising Tide

  • 90% for 90%
    - is a call for a 90% cut in UK public transport fares, to make public transport affordable, to start making changes that bring the 90% cut in greenhouse gases needed to halt climate change. Carrying a '90% for 90%' card, those who support the call will ask public transport workers and other passengers to join in. Some 90% for 90%ers refuse to pay more than 10%; some show the card in support of the call; some leaflet other passengers.
